ABOUT JENN JACKSON

My love of beauty comes from a childhood PASSION. As a little girl, I knew I wanted to do hair and makeup! INSPIRED by my grandmother, who was a schoolteacher and also a hairdresser, I used to watch and study as she pressed, curled and swirled her marcel irons.

In elementary school, my fourth grade career day chosen profession was COSMETOLOGY.  Complete with a styled mannequin, beauty photos from magazines and a report from Encyclopedia Brittanica! I distinctly remember the word "cosmetology" being so long I could barely fit it on my poster board.

After high school, I wanted to go to beauty school, but my mother was not having it.  “What COLLEGE are you going to?” was her response.  So I put my passion on the back burner and went to college and majored in Electrical Engineering.  Throughout high school, college and my professional career I was always involved in some aspect of making people beautiful. But that WASN’T ENOUGH, the flame that had been lit as a child was STILL BURNING.

After working 12 years in Corporate America as an Electrical Engineer, I finally decided TO PURSUE MY PASSION.  I competed for and won a full scholarship to Aveda Institute Chicago, became a licensed cosmetologist, and became formally trained in make up artistry. Uniquely, I am highly trained and experienced in both areas and am adept in working with hair and faces that cross all boundaries in texture, skin tone, gender and ethnicity.

I specialize in HD (high-definition) air brushing yet also do traditional makeup. In the area of hair artistry I specialize in hair extensions, with clients that span both coasts.  "TRUE ARTISTRY is in the ability to bring out natural beauty, it is from that foundation that creativity is built upon." Having worked in many genres (including, commercial, editorial, TV, film, video) my goal with each project is simple…. “to see through the eyes of the client and bring their VISION TO LIFE!"
